Review: Revlon Photo Ready (Eye Primer & Finisher)

Good evening to you all! Thanks for taking the time to stop by this post and (hopefully) read my review/first impression. Tonight I will be reviewing the Revlon Photo Ready Eye Primer + Brightener and the Revlon Photo Ready Translucent Finisher. So, let's get started.

Revlon Photo Ready Eye Primer + Brightener:

This product is available at most major retailers that I have seen. It goes for around $9.99 (ulta)

I purchased this item simply because I didn't have a lid primer and wanted to see what the fuss was about. I don't get the chance to touch up my shadow during the day and noticed it did not have the staying power that I really wanted.

Not knowing alot about primers, I didn't want to pay big bucks for one.

Luckily, Walgreens is the bomb and I got this primer for 1/2 off + $5 off because I had points to redeem. So I purchased a face primer and basically got this one free.

I can't even bring myself to create a pro's and con's list for this product. It simply did not work for me and I am glad it was basically free. For starters the click dispenser does not supply a consistent amount of product. Sometimes 2 click will get you the perfect amount, too much, or none at all. The applicator does not apply evenly and I had to spend time blending out the primer. As for overall staying power, this is actually worse than just using my concealer as I've been doing. My shadows disappeared mere hours into my day. As far as a brightener, no luck there either. It is very pink for my skin tone and does not flatter me at all. I love Revlon products, but this was a big bust for me.

Score: 1/5 -The price is semi-reasonable, so there's that.

Revlon Photo Ready Translucent Finisher:

I've only personally seen this finisher at Ulta and Walgreens, but check your local retailers. It's priced at $12.99 (ulta)

I actually made this purchase some months ago and also got this 1/2 off because I needed a refill on my foundation. (Gotta love Walgreens!) So I paid around $6.50.

I don't use powder because I have pretty dry skin and it never looks right on my face but I thought a translucent powder would be helpful to give my foundation some staying power, especially in the Texas summers.

Boy, was I mistaken.

This is going to be another bust review, so I wont even bother with the pro's and con's. To begin the packaging is very awkward and was hard for me to open. After that there is no applicator included, which I found somewhat surprising. The application of the product is not very smooth and it's sparkly. Yes, there are pieces of glitter in the powder. Now, not being a fan of the Edward Cullen look myself, this was very confusing to me. Overall this was a bust in my book.

Score: 1/5 - It could be good for some costume looks, so i'll keep it around.

I did not intentionally create a entry of makeup busts, but I guess it just happened that way. I love Revlon products and really wanted to love these too, but unfortunately that didn't happen for me.
